Fish On Line (Pty) Ltd. is a Seafood Trading company registered in the Republic of South Africa established in 1999. However, the combined experience of its shareholders exceeds 65 years. We know fish and we are Passiontate about it.
Although we offer a wide range of seafood products and services, we have a very specific approach to our business. Our Values guide our Objectives, and our Supplier and Customer Relationships are key. The people of Fish On Line are equally important as this is our Essence and Identity. We believe in harnessing each individual’s talents to the best in order to give the service our customers have come to expect from us. Furthermore we subscribe to a code of conduct determined by ourselves, guided by industry regulations and the Long Term Sustainability of the resource.
As registered Importers and Exporters of Quality Seafood we endeavor to supply only the best quality to our markets by sourcing from the best suppliers. To this end we have joined an international group of companies that are specialist in their individual fields. This gives us an international footprint with all the obvious benefits. For example, this gives us a risk free purchase platform as well as the product and market information from tried and tested ideas and products. Our purchase platform includes South America, Africa, Europe and the Middle and Far East.
Fish On Line’s primary focus is in the Foodservice and Wholesale sectors. To these markets we supply a range of fillets and portions in various sizes depending on the customer’s requirements. We are involved in the process from design to delivery and are able to give the client commitment on price and quality based on their demand forecasts. Distribution is made on a national level through our appointed transporters and distributors.

The Team
Ernie Malan
Founding member and Managing Director of Fish On Line (Pty) Ltd. Born in Namibia and matriculated in Walvis Bay. Studied at Cape Peninsula University of Technology and an Internal Auditor by profession. Started his career as Internal Auditor at Safmarine and later joined the Olthaver and List Group in Namibia at their Fish Processing Plant in Walvis Bay as assistant account and later appointed as manager of Consortium Evisa. Here he gained valuable experience in the catching, processing and marketing of Namibian fish species. In 1996 founded and managed Blue Line Products responsible for marketing Northern Fishing Industries entire basket of seafood products to a value of R100 000 000 per anum. In 1998 Blue Line Products was sold to Sea Harvest.
Roelof Brink
Roelof joined Irvin & Johnson in 1987 and started his career in Warehousing and Distribution. In 1991 he joined the Sales division as Sales Representative specialising in the Wholesale and Catering market segments. A promotion to Business Development Manager in 1993 gave him valuable experience in the QSR and SDR markets, setting the stage for his promotion to I&J head office as National Product Manager Whole Fish, and ultimately a life in Seafood. Together with Ernie Malan he co-founded Fish on Line 1999 where his experience in contract development has come to great use. Roelof is married to Sharlene and together they have two daughters, Jade and Andrea.
Dean Stacey
Dean started his career as Production Manager at County Fair Chickens after studying at University of Stellenbosch. He joined Columbit Foods in 1994 as National Distribution Manager and later promoted to National Planning and Distribution Manager. After working as Factory Manager at Lusitania Fishing in 1996, he joined Premier Fishing in 1998 as General Manager of the South Coast Lobster Division. His portfolio was increased to include West Coast Lobster, Hake, Squid, Abalone as well as New Business Development. Dean was later appointed to the board of directors of Premier Fishing and was also appointed as MD of Premfresh, a trading arm of Premier Fishing. In 2008 Dean joined Fish on Line as director and shareholder.
